Pastor Gary Weant

The Rev. Gary A. Weant has been pastor at Philadelphia since 1976. He is a native of Rowan County, North Carolina and a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College, Hickory, N.C. with an AB degree in mathematics. He also holds a M.Div. From the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, S.C. and is currently completing a third year of graduate studies at Southern Seminary in the STM (Master of Sacred Theology)Degree program. Pastor Weant is married to Linda Morgan Weant a native of Mt. Ulla, N.C. She is also a mathematics major and graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College and is currently on the faculty at William C. Friday Middle School and Gaston College. She is completing her third year of graduate studies in pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Adult Education. Pastor and Linda Weant have a daughter, Rebekah Marie, who is a student at Lenoir-Rhyne College and a son, Jonathan Alan, who is a student at North Gaston High School.
